The ‘Calzolaio’ Analogy

Amanda’s last name is Calzolaio. Calzolaio is Italian for ‘Shoe Maker’. Shoes support our feet, and our feet shape and bolster our entire body’s posture and balance. If our feet are comfortable and well supported, we can walk or run farther, stand longer, and do more of the things we want to be doing in ways we want to be doing them.

Amanda is your partner co-creating your best fitted shoe(s) to support you and your team one step at a time - at work, at home and in your community.

Actively incorporating living systems, diversity and inclusion, leadership best practices, strategic futures, and the arts into coaching, education and mediative applications. Amanda applies her experiences and training in Compassion, Focusing, Internal Family Systems, and Positive Intelligence to go even deeper with her clients. Her clients value her ability to remain compassionate, energizing, and supportive while challenging and strengthening their mental models to make continual progress towards creative and actionable ways forward.

Amanda is a graduate from the Adler Graduate Professional School. She holds an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) designation as a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She is an Executive Coach with McMaster University’s School of Medicine Bridging Leaders Program, their Advanced Leadership Program, and with Fora: Network for Change Rise on Board’s Program. She is an executive and team coaching member of the Epiphany Coaches, the Leadership Intelligence Community of Practice, and the Graduate School Alliance for Education in Coaching (GSAEC). She currently teaches and designs courses at Conestoga College’s School of Business and within McMaster University’s Bachelor of Health Sciences Program. Investing in Youth

We partner with families, children and youth knowing their future will shape the workplace, our homes and our communities.

“Amanda has been everything my wife, Rina, and I could ask for in a coach for our daughter, Summer. She created a good rapport immediately, keeps lines of communication open while still maintaining confidentiality, and is always mindful of the coach-child and coach-parents relationships. But don't listen to me, take it from Summer herself.

The first word that comes to her mind when discussing Amanda: trust. According to Summer, Amanda is very supportive, respects her opinions, and consistently provides guidance and awareness on how she can find solutions when she needs them. "She understands what I'm talking about and the situations I'm going through."

Raising a child can be difficult at times. Knowing that Amanda is just a phone call/text/email away provides that extra assurance that everything will be all right. That is the immeasurable impact of Amanda's coaching and why we cannot recommend her highly enough!”
